1. Email alert: Subject line (plus two alternates), preview text, and a 150-200 word body. Structure: what is happening, why it matters for animals, exactly what to do, and make the requested action immediately clear. Write at an 8th-grade reading level.
2. Social versions: One post for Facebook (under 80 words), one for X/Twitter (under 280 characters), one for Instagram caption (under 125 words), each with the same single ask.

- Make it yours. Rewrite the alert in your organization’s voice. Supporters should recognize who is asking them to act.
- Keep supporters’ messages personal. Encourage people to add their own words and reason for caring instead of sending identical text.
Customize it
- Swap the channel mix for the platforms your audience uses; ask for an SMS version (under 160 characters) if you text supporters.
- Give it a past alert that performed well as a style sample.
- For opposition alerts, ask it to keep the tone firm but respectful, since supporters’ messages reflect on your org.
